What We Do

In essence, our name says it all. We dedicate our time and effort to rescuing & re-homing Great Dane Dogs. We are also available to give advice on the breed. We've been running as a registered charity since 2000 but have been doing this since the early 90's and have no intention of giving it up..! Not just yet anyway!

!n 2008 we updated our policy so that all adult dogs are now neutered, wherever possible, before being re-homed and all potential new owners are vetted to include regular home visits. Please look at our ADOPT page for current danes needing their forever homes

With so many dogs coming through the rescue centre, we always have major bills to pay. If you'd like to support the work we do here at Great Dane Care, we, the committee, our small but dedicated group of volunteers and more importantly, the rescue dogs, will really feel the benefit of your support & generosity. Thank You.

Please check our ADOPT page which is updated regularly

Pandemic Press Statement 2020

Great Dane Care Charitable Trust

Registered charity no 1102041

Pandemic and Lockdown November 2020

During the recent lockdown in Wales we have had the opportunity to be on hand to give advice to the general public and breeders, as well as catching up on our paperwork, kennel maintenance and fundraising.

We are grateful for our supporters as your support allows us to continue in our work. We have had a lot of help from our food sponsors at Burn’s and also from the online organisation of Great Danes UK as well as our many friends in the breed clubs and other too many to list.

We still have dedicated members of staff and volunteers who are busy at the kennels. After next Monday 9th November we are able to accept Great Danes from Wales to rehome and also to give any much needed help to people with Great Danes in England during your lockdown.

We are still here for you!

Please call the assessment centre 01267290317 or 07786154508 There are messaging services which will be answered soon, or send a message through or website or social media sites, or contact any of our dedicated trustees

BELLA’S STORY …….CONTINUED

29/6/2020

I have just been in contact with Bella's new owners and they are delighted with her progress

26/5/2020

Bella as had had her 10 day check up and has delighted both the wonderful staff of the Eye Clinic in Leominster and her new owners, the eyes are clear and she can see.

She still has her eyes shielded for another 4 days so she cannot rub them but her new owners say she is looking at distances and is behaving like a young Great Dane. She is tolerating her 4 times a day dose of eye drops. Her next report is in a weeks time and if good then she will go back for a check up in another 2 weeks .

Thank you all again for the support that has allowed her to see again and also to the wonderful new owners who are diligently nursing her back to a full life.

THIS IS HOW YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE
